    The Professional Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching (PG Dip) is a qualification that combines theoretical study with practical experience. The PG Dip provide students with an integrated program of study made up of different courses. The PG Dip is a 24 credit-hours course program for those who wish to be teachers. The graduates of this program can teach in any public and private school. This qualification is required for employment as a teacher in many regional countries. 

    The PG Dip offers a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical teaching experience. It also emphasis teamwork, self-management and critical thinking. Opportunities to experience different styles of learning in different environments such as school, college and the workplace, with focus on practical activities and integrated curriculum are the hallmarks of this PG Dip.

    The Professional Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching is a new qualification that combines theoretical study with practical experience. The PPGD will provide students with an integrated program of study made up of different courses. The PPGD is a 24 credit-hours- course for graduates who wish to be teachers. It enables holders to teach in any government and private school. The qualification is required for employment as a teacher in many regional countries.  

  • Program Goals


    On completion of the PG Dip study program, graduates should be able to:

    • Employ a wide range of methods and approaches in teaching different subjects such as Mathematics, Sciences, English, Arabic, Social studies, Islamic studies, and Information Technology.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies.
    • Utilize educational technology in the learning and teaching of different subjects.
    • Recognize the key concepts of curriculum policy formation and curriculum development
    • Implement different types and techniques of measurement and evaluation in different classroom settings.
    • Deploy requisite knowledge and skills of dealing with special needs students.
  • Why the PG Dip.?

     

    • The PG Dip is a one-year teacher preparation program for students who already hold a BSc. degree.
    • The program offers practical, school-based learning and draws on the latest research into effective teaching methods, ensuring graduates are well equipped to meet the challenges of a teaching career.
    • Courses within the program challenge participants to use their knowledge, expertise and experience to design learning environments that will engage students in the learning process and cater for a variety of learning styles.
    • Participants learn to cooperatively and critically plan, design, implement and review relevant syllabi including developing teaching and learning strategies and curriculum materials.
    • Graduates will have developed a personal theory of teaching that fully considers the role of teachers in the promotion of an inclusive society.
  • Admission Requirements


    • Satisfying ADU conditions for postgraduate admission.
    • Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.5/4.0

    The PG Dip program offers many employment opportunities in public and private school.  In addition, a variety of career specialization are available for the graduates of the program include.  They include becoming teachers of Arabic, Islamic Studies, Science, Mathematics, English, or other related field.   The graduates of the PG Dip can also pursue careers as School Principals, Educational Supervisors, Counselors, and Social Workers.
