  • About the Program


    Quality educational leadership is vital to the overall success of an individual school or school system. Strong academic leaders are key to high-performing schools; they help school reform, and serve as motivators to fellow teachers and students.

    Master of Education in Leadership degree is intended for professionals who are interested in enhancing leadership and management skills to provide a better educational environment for students, teachers and staff. Students in the program acquire a deeper understanding of various theories in organizational behavior, educational leadership and change processes and how these three aspects impact educational institutions. The program helps the students familiarize themselves with a range of issues surrounding management and how the issues relate to developments in education, the society and the economy. The students develop skills in analysis of development policies and the various factors that affect the implementation of management policies in an educational context.

    • Produce action research and initiatives to improve Learning and Education field

  • Admission Requirements


    • Satisfying ADU conditions for postgraduate admission
    • Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
    • Provisional admission will be granted to applicants with TOFEL score between 530 and 549 and a CGPA between 2.5 and 2.99. In this case, the student must obtain B grade in the two courses taken in the first semester and TOFEL score of 550
    • if an applicant has a CGPA less than 2.5 but equal to or above 2.0 and meets the English requirement and has 5 years’ relevant experience, she/he may be admitted into the program which subject to case-by-case approval

  • Program Completion Requirements


    The Master of Education in Leadership program requires 36 credit hours for graduation (approximately 2 years).  Courses are calculated in semester credit hours. Each course carries a certain number of credits that are awarded after the successful completion of that course. Students admitted into ADU master degree programs must complete the total number of credit hours of the required/elective courses taught in the department. Students from NON EDUCATION FIELDS must pass any remedial or pre-core courses before they start or during their first academic year. The pre-degree courses are not computed in the cumulative GPA and do not count towards the degree requirements, but they do appear on the student's transcript.

    Master degree in educational leadership can prepare graduates for teaching and executive positions at public and private schools. Administrative positions that might be available to those with a master's degree in educational leadership include the Principal, Assistant principal, District administrator, Instructional coordinator, Director or supervisor, Cluster Manager.
