ADU Creativity Competition

Register for ADU Creativity Competition:

THE APPRECIATION CEREMONY WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY 31st MAY.

  1. Construct Model little garden or piece of Furniture using recycled materials such as foam, wooden sticks, cardboard, balsa, plastic sheets, paste etc.

    Requirements:
    1. Participants are to submit a physical model 30x30cm and an A1 board that explains the process and ideas they used in the design of the garden or furniture.
    2. Innovation is essential and the final product should explain the idea clearly through its steps of development on the A1 board.

    Evaluation Criteria:
    Students will be evaluated based on the
    1. Innovation and Originality of the project
    2. Accuracy of scale (how close to real life objects in proportions)
    3. Realistic material texture simulation
    4. Logical structural system
    5. Sturdy model
    6. Completeness of the landscape and environment immediately around the project

  2. Develop an Educational Website using Google Sites about the usage of renewable energy in the UAE

    Requirements:
    1. Participants must provide a description of the basic ideas behind some of the famous renewable energy sources such as biofuel, solar energy, wind power etc.
    2. Participants must also include a discussion on UAE's achievements in renewable energy

    Evaluation Criteria:

    1. INFORMATION ABOUT THE SITE
      • Does the website include information about its authors and their contacts?
      • Does it include the date it was created and for what competition?
      • Does it credit the sources from which the information was collected?
    2. DESIGN
      • Is the website's appearance pleasing and professional-looking?
      • Is the text readable and easy to follow?
      • Are the links in the website working?
      • Can the website be navigated easily?
    3. CONTENT
      • Does the website provide information about BOTH basic renewable energy and UAE's achievement in this area?
      • Is the website's content meaningful in terms of its educational value?
      • Does the website using multimedia to educate its visitors such as images and videos?
    4. INNOVATION
      • Does the website introduce original or new content?

  3. Design solar-powered apparatus / device for desalinating water

    Requirements:
    1. To evaporate salt water using solar powered energy in order to collect the fresh water
    2. Students should use recycled materials (plastic water bottles, plastic cups aluminum foil, flexible plastic straws, plastic cups, rubber bands and glass) to design the apparatus
    3. Brief description of the apparatus

  4. Create a brief PPT or Video presentation on a business plan based on a recycling

    Requirements:
    1. Time: 15minutes (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion during ceremony)
    2. Should not be more than 10-15 slides
    3. Language should only be in English
    4. The idea can be developed by a team but only one person need to do the presentation.

    Evaluation Criteria:
    1. Innovation - Does the idea has innovative and distinct characteristics
    2. Feasibility - Does the idea has feasibility in practice and is adaptable to today’s market / society Visuals – Are the Visuals clear and visible to entire audience and Creative to emphasize main points
