During 2009 Abu Dhabi University launched the Department of Advancement and Public Relations, bringing together for the first time Marketing and Public Relations, Student Recruitment and Admissions, Student Engagement and Campus Life Activities, Career Development and Internships, and creating a new focus on Alumni Affairs and fundraising.
Marketing and Public Relations
The Marketing and Communication Department supports a range of marketing strategies aimed at promoting Abu Dhabi University. The unit conceptualizes the copy driven collateral ranging from corporate publications, posters and corporate display units, to advertising campaigns and banners, communication and the University website copy. The unit is also responsible for all the University media contacts, event organizations and all public relations services.
The department is dedicated to producing great quality print and Web services for the University. The facility is responsible for the monitoring, design, execution and consulting of a wide variety of the University's print and web publications, such as the various University manuals, catalogues, brochures and newsletters, faculty and student recruitment materials, as well as many promotional give-away-items. The unit also provides translation and documentation services for the University, upon request.
The department maintains the University's image by making sure that all printed collateral preserves the University's set image and identity and is in line with the University mission.
Student Recruitment and Admissions is the outreach heart of Abu Dhabi University, continually liaising with schools, parents and potential students across the Emirates and wider GCC, advising on new programs, assisting with applications to Abu Dhabi University, and opening the doors to Abu Dhabi University through open days, information sessions, etc. admissions manages 3 intakes a year for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, across both campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. A continually expanding portfolio of new programs is actively promoted across the GCC and in the expanding range of countries where Abu Dhabi University is accredited.
SEDO is responsible for engaging students in campus life and organizes a wide range of events on – and off – campus throughout each academic year, engaging business, industry, government, media, charities, embassies, and international groups in over 100 events each academic year.
Abu Dhabi University Career Development: Ensuring that students who graduate from Abu Dhabi University are well prepared to contribute to the economic development of the region and are actively sought after by employers is a priority for Abu Dhabi University. Whether it is securing their first job or moving to the next level, Abu Dhabi University is committed to providing careers support, though an active annual internship program involving several hundred eligible students each year, organizing a major on-campus careers fair each year, bringing in employers to give talks on a monthly basis, and providing employers with opportunities to profile their organizations to Abu Dhabi University students.
Abu Dhabi University Alumni Affairs is responsible for developing and managing the interaction with around 1500 alumni, and will soon launch the Alumni Annual Fund.
Advancement is also regularly involved in developing partnerships with organizations and institutions in the United Arab Emirates and internationally, and welcomes approaches from potential partners.
