Dr. Philippe Frossard

Professor Philippe Marcel Charles Frossard, a French citizen, joined ADU on May 31, 2009 as the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
He has extensive, international experience in academic, private and global institutions in the fields of higher education, research, development, administration, management and leadership. For the past 28 years, he has held several senior positions in Europe, the US, Japan, the UAE and Pakistan.
His skills, attributes and expertise include an international knowledge of teaching, research and administration of science, health and medicine, arts, business and management, and engineering. He is an expert in worldwide medical research, with a particular emphasis on cardio-vascular disorders and cancers.
Dr. Frossard holds a BSc, an M.Sc., an M.Med./M.Phil., and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and Molecular Biology, all with honors from the University Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France. In 1996, he was awarded a D.Sc. from his alma mater for his lifetime achievements. He has 200 publications, 7 books and 4 US and world patents to his credit.
He is the recipient of numerous prizes, among which he was awarded the distinction of Knight of the National Order of Merit in 2003 by former French President Jacques Chirac.
