Overview
The new generation of CCNA curricula, known as CCNA Discovery which replaces the soon retired CCNA 3.1 and prepares the students for the new industry CCNA exams (ICND 1 and ICND 2), is taught at the academy. CCNA Discovery provides a hands-on approach to learning networking skills. It uses easy-to-follow labs to help students learn the general theory needed to build networks. CCNA Discovery allows for quick application of learned concepts, prepares students for IT careers by teaching applied skills midway through the four-course series and encourages the students to consider additional education in IT.
The College is offering Cisco Career Certification courses starting with the first two courses, Networking for Home and Small Businesses and Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP. Upon completion of these two courses the student are eligible to take the CCENT certificate. Students can then take the last two courses, Introducing Routing and Switching in the Enterprise and Designing and Supporting Computer Networks. Students who successfully complete each course will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for that course. Students who achieve a high level of proficiency on their final exam will receive a congratulatory letter from John Chambers, CEO of Cisco Systems, Inc., a very valuable addition to any one’s career portfolio.
