Strategic Areas of Research
Rapid developments witnessed in diverse fields at the beginning of the third millennium pose great challenges for humanity. These challenges need to be met by adopting the necessary techniques to comprehend and deal with them. The promotion of scientific and applied research activities that would not only keep abreast with new developments at the technological, political, economic and social spheres of human endeavor, but would also formulate the most suitable responses and strategies for keeping the UAE society ahead in the race of modernity and global scientific developments.
The research agenda of the University is primarily focused to make quality contribution to the emirate’s broader economical, social, and technological advancements. These include emerging research areas of country’s strategic priority such as renewable energy, desalination, environment, entrepreneurship, and women empowerment. The research activities will also be addressed at relevant international concerns and to support the government's decision-making by disseminating research outputs to decision-makers.
