SHEIKH SULTAN BIN HAMDAN AL NAHYAN AWARDS HAMDAN BIN ZAYED AL NAHYAN UNIVERSITY OF ABU DHABI ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Abu Dhabi, 6th July 2005 - Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and President of The University of Abu Dhabi Board of Trustees & Governors, the University awarded 23 educational scholarships to the top twenty three high school graduates of the United Arab Emirates at a ceremony held in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, as well as His Excellency Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri attended the ceremony.
The Abdul Jalil Award for Distinguished High School Students Ceremony, organized by Al Fahim Group, honoured the country's top twenty three high school graduates. Al Fahim Group holds the annual award ceremony to promote healthy competition among students and raise the standard of education in UAE by rewarding monetary prizes. Abu Dhabi University was invited by Al Fahim Group to attend the ceremony and award the graduates the 23 educational scholarships, in support of raising awareness of the institution.
"We are delighted that the Al Fahim Group has taken the initiative to motive and inspire scholarships among outstanding students, as well as promote education in the UAE," said His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.
"We are honoured to welcome distinguished students into our institution and fully support all their future endeavours," added His Excellency Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri , Chairman of the Executive Board of Governors.
Abu Dhabi University awarded 23 prestigious "His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Scholarship," which covers a four-year education programme including tuition, fees, books and transportation. The students extended their thanks to Abu Dhabi University & Al Fahim Group for enabling them to reach their maximum potential and keep their aspirations high, by giving them this opportunity of unparalleled higher education.
