The MEd in Leadership encourages students to work to their maximum potential in a challenging teaching and learning environment. The teaching and learning model used to enhance this challenging learning experience will include constructivist learning, interactive lectures, discussions, seminars, teamwork, case studies, simulations and field work. Successful adult learning requires that learning be value-based, student-centered, enquiry-based and hands-on active involvement of student. These learning activities will be guided by expert lecturers in their fields.
People, who complete the MEd in Leadership, will be able to demonstrate that they have acquired the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for effective team and school leadership at elementary, secondary and post-secondary education levels.
The MEd in Leadership has been designed to prepare current and aspirant leaders for services in six critical areas:
- Strategic Leadership
- Instructional Leadership
- Organizational Leadership
- Community Leadership
- Ethical Leadership
- Cultural Leadership
The admission requirements for the MEd in Leadership are:
- Candidates must satisfy ADU conditions for postgraduate admission.
- Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in education from an accredited institution with an overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Candidates must score 550 on the TOEFL examination. In exceptional cases, candidates with TOEFL scores lower than 550, but have a TOEFL score of at least 530, may also be considered for conditional admission, contingent upon obtaining a TOEFL score of at least 550 by the end of the first semester.
- Once students have been admitted into the program, they must maintain a 3.0/4.0 CGPA in order to remain in good standing.
- All teaching faculty in the Department of English are PhD holders from American and British universities.
- They have long and rich experience in teaching courses in Western & Middle Eastern Universities.
- They are specialized in Translation Studies and English Linguistics.
