College of Engineering & Computer Science
Developing the Future Engineering Leaders of the Gulf Region
The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at Abu Dhabi University offers nine bachelor’s degree programs and two master’s degree program. The graduate degree programs are M.Sc. in Computer Science and Master of Engineering Management, while the undergraduate degree programs are B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Sc. in Information Systems Technology, B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, B.Sc. in Construction Management, B.Sc. in Interior Design, B.Sc. in Landscape Architecture, and Bachelor of Architecture. All programs are designed specifically for Abu Dhabi market. While each of the last five programs is designed to meet the needs of a specific sector in the UAE's building industry, they share a common philosophy concerned with the quality of the built environment, a shared desire to satisfy the standards for national and international accreditation, and a shared industry demand that needs to be met with both common and discipline-specific courses. The construction sector of the Abu Dhabi economy is booming with significant expansion currently underway. The demand for graduates in construction and design-related professions is escalating and will be sustained for many years to come.
The College has plans to expand in the near future by offering more new programs focusing on the two major themes of high tech computing and the building construction. The graduates of our well-designed programs will easily find jobs in the Gulf region in general and in the UAE in particular, whether it is the high tech internet, computer and telecommunication industries, or in the construction and design companies.
The College’s highly qualified faculty members have international academic and industrial experience in their fields and have obtained their Ph.D.’s from prominent universities in North America and Europe. The College houses modern facilities, design studios and specialized engineering, computer science and information technology labs that include Soil Mechanics lab, Environmental Engineering lab, Construction Materials lab, Hydraulics lab, Surveying lab, CISCO Academy lab, Multimedia lab, UNIX lab, Microprocessor lab, AutoCad lab and others. These labs are furnished with the state of the art equipment to help our students acquire the hands-on experience needed to pursue a successful professional career.
