Student Engagement & Development Office (SEDO)
The Student Engagement & Development Office is a student-centered department that works dynamically to provide the Abu Dhabi University community with an expansive variety of cultural, social, artistic, educational and athletic programs. It endorses Personal Development Planning, Holistic Interpersonal Growth and Lifelong Learning through a wide range of “out of classroom” programs and services designed to widen the educational experiences of every student at Abu Dhabi University. Harmonizing the efforts of the teaching faculty, students are empowered through a personalized and structured approach that provides involvement and engagement opportunities at the in/out campus activities and events. Throughout the students’ several development and empowerment programs, they gain the ability and authority to make decisions and implement change in their own lives and the lives of all Abu Dhabi University community.
The staff orchestrates the Meta curricular life of the campus that focuses on the intellectual, occupational, emotional, psychological and physical development of our students’ as global citizens and visionary leaders. While the concepts of Leadership, Volunteerism, Community Service and Social Responsibility can be viewed independently, they are interwoven through a student’s experience at Abu Dhabi University to discover the values, skills and competencies needed to lead and serve in a changing global community. The Student Engagement & Development Office strives to become a leading model of innovative and creative approaches for student-centered initiatives as we deliberately grow to meet the expanding needs of our splendidly diverse student body and greater community.
