Campus Director, Dubai
Dr. Ibrahim Sidawi was appointed Director of Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) Dubai campus in 2017. Prior to this he spent 16 years as Executive Director of the Center for Externally Funded Research & Consultancies (eFORS) at UAE University. In this position he executed over 300 externally funded research and consultancy projects in the areas of engineering, information technology, food systems and agriculture, business and economy, education, health sciences, and law.
Starting his career in academia, Dr Sidawi was Director of Education and Dean of Technology at ETI Technical College in Ohio, USA. He lectured in mechanical, electrical, industrial quality assurance & quality control, robotics, physics, mathematics, CNC and CAD for 10 years. In the UAE he was General Manager of a private group of companies that provided services in engineering consulting, strategic planning and project management. He was also Director of the Innovation Institute for Sciences and Technology where he conducted training courses in management, science & engineering, and construction project management.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Cleveland State University, USA, Dr. Sidawi’s PhD thesis, ‘Planar front solidification of CsI-thalium doped crystal’ was supported through a fellowship from NASA Lewis Research Center, USA.
