The marketing program integrates topics from market research, advertising, international business, strategic market planning, market intelligence and consumer behavior into a unified course of study. It is a discipline that requires study and also the primary function that dictates and drives overall business strategy. Effective marketing is critical for the long-term success of any business organization because this function insures that the firm attracts, retains, and grows customers by creating, delivering and communicating superior customer value. Because every organization in every industry has a marketing function, career opportunities for graduates are plentiful.

Beta Gamma Sigma was founded as a national organization in 1913. The first national honor society in business was a merger of three separate societies established to honor academic achievement in business at the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois and the University of California.

How do I become a BGS member?

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma Honors society is the highest international recognition a business student can receive in an undergraduate or master's program accredited by the AACSB. As a “highest honor attainable” BGS acts as an indicator for future employers. By simply putting the fact that you’ve been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, you show the world you’ve set yourself apart from the rest of your class. It is a designation that truly sets members apart from the crowd, and one that you, as a hiring professional, should become more familiar with.
Benefits of Joining Beta Gamma Sigma:

    Extraordinary Experiences

    • Networking with the "Best in Business"
One of the greatest resources available to lifetime members of Beta Gamma Sigma are other lifetime members of Beta Gamma Sigma. To that end, Beta Gamma Sigma is pleased to offer its members with several great opportunities to connect with their fellow "Best in Business."

While Beta Gamma Sigma strives to provide a lifetime benefits for its members, nowhere are these benefits as apparent as they are within the Alumni Network. Alumni Chapter members of Beta Gamma Sigma are able to network with other BGS lifetime members, and have access to professional contacts and development opportunities that are otherwise unavailable. To date, BGS proudly boasts almost 30 Alumni Chapters and growing.
    • Job opportunities:
With connections come opportunities. Knowing the right people will get you in the door to countless jobs, and becoming a BGS member opens a world of opportunity. In our society, members can interact with other business-minded individuals, many of whom are hiring as we speak. Get to know your fellow members and land that dream job.

Beyond that, there is no greater predictor of future success than past success. Including BGS on one’s resume is a clear-cut signal that a candidate has what it takes to get the job done in a top-notch fashion. It’s a beacon of excellence that will follow that individual throughout their career.
    • Mentorship program:
The BGS Society at Abu Dhabi University plans to launch a mentorship program for members, where alums and college students will not only connect socially, but will also make them learn from each other. Beta Gamma Sigma seeks to bridge the gap between its seasoned members and college students by calling on alums to lend a helping hand to their younger colleagues. Whether seeking guidance with career choices, student members will be provided with the valuable assets of experience and knowledge.
    • Distinguished Speaker Series
The BGS Honors Society, Abu Dhabi University Chapter will host the Distinguished Speaker Series, bringing a variety of corporate leaders to ADU campus. The objective of the series is two-fold. It brings high-profile corporate leaders to one of the world's leading business school to share their insights on current business issues and corporate strategies.
