If you are passionate about teaching and delivering a high-quality learning experience then this program is for you.  Blending practical experience with theoretical study, the program prepares you to teach in both public and private schools.

Practical school-based teaching experience is combined with the latest research into effective teaching and learning strategies. You will learn to plan, design, critically review and implement a curriculum, including material development. This program prepares you to teach a variety of subjects, examines classroom management strategies and the use of education technology. 

You will gain skills that will enable you to design curricula and learning environments that will fully engage students in the learning process, taking into account different learning styles and special needs. You will study policy behind curriculum design, as well as analyze and evaluate different evaluation techniques.

This qualification is a requirement for becoming a teacher in countries across the region.

Accreditation

This program is nationally accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation at the UAE’s Ministry of Education - Higher Education Affairs. Additionally, the program is internationally recognized and accredited by the following bodies.


  • Career prospects

    Graduates of this program have gone on to teach in both government and private schools within the UAE and across the region. Some chose to become subject-specific teachers in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Science, Mathematics or English. Graduates can also take up education management roles, as well as non-teaching positions such as counselors and advisors.

  • Entry Requirements for Direct Admission

    • Bachelor Degree: in a directly related discipline with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a 4.00-point scale, from an accredited university recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs.

    We also welcome applications from students with a variety of bachelor degrees from an accredited university recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs, upon their successful completion of any required program foundation courses. These applicants will be granted admission into the program after the successful completion of some business foundation courses.     Applicants with CGPA’s and English Proficiency Test scores that don’t match the above requirements may be granted exceptions for conditional admission. For more information on conditional admission to any of ADU’s postgraduate programs visit Conditional Admissions.

    Students who are native speakers of English, and have completed their undergraduate education in an institution where the medium of instruction is English may be exempted from the English Proficiency Tests. For inquiries and more information, visit Postgraduate Admissions.
