A master’s degree in Civil Engineering will enable you to move ahead in your professional practice and stand out from your peers. Meeting the critical needs of the design and construction industries in the UAE and region for civil engineers, this program will provide you with the technical knowledge and skills to develop the analytical, decision-making and critical powers required to solve civil engineering problems, along with the transferable skills to enable an outstanding career in civil engineering.

An innovative feature of this advanced program is that the degree title is augmented to include a subject theme by choosing courses specifically related to general civil engineering.

As such, you will concentrate on the technical knowledge and skills relevant to the field of general civil engineering, covering all specializations, for the award of MSc Civil Engineering: General Civil Engineering. As well as core subjects, you will study urban transportation planning, construction project management, water resources/treatment, environmental engineering, geotechnical earthquake engineering, advanced soil mechanics, courses related to traffic and transportation, and waste management.

The program blends academic study with the development of practical and professional skills to fully prepare you for the future challenges of working in a multi-faceted engineering environment, instilling the confidence to tackle today’s complex general civil engineering problems.

  • Career Prospects

Graduates of this program are highly sought-after and enter a range of careers related to the field of civil engineering.

Types of organizations include construction companies, consulting companies, government entities, water distribution and treatment plants, building materials testing laboratories and oil companies.

The acquisition of a master’s degree demonstrates a high level of knowledge in your chosen field. You may use it to enhance your employability, as preparation for further academic research or as a means of professional training.
