Prof. Mohammad Alkhedher

Professor and Chair of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department

Dr. Mohammad Alkhedher, Professor and Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Abu Dhabi University, has over 19 years of extensive academic and research expertise. He earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Washington State University, USA, in 2007. Recognized for his exceptional contributions, Dr. Alkhedher is the recipient of esteemed awards, including the Abu Dhabi University Distinguished Faculty Award, ADU Research Excellence Award, College of Engineering Research Excellence Award in 20/21 and Greenpeace MENA award: Alternative future-UAE 2023. With a prolific publication record, Dr. Alkhedher has authored 200+ papers in leading journals and presented 50+ conference publications across diverse research domains. His expertise is in mechatronics systems and intelligent methods for condition and property-based monitoring and management systems, encompassing energy storage, machinery, environmental quality, 3D printing, and nanomaterials. Dr. Alkhedher has successfully secured over Four million AED in external funding. Notably, he secured 1.15 million AED for the highly competitive Virtual Research Institutes Programme (VRI) - Sustainability (Energy). Dr. Alkhedher has led winning teams in prestigious research events and competitions, including EGA, Steel regional challenge, QUWA, Undergraduate Research Competition, Sultan Qaboos University competition, and GEVC. Currently, Dr. Alkhedher is actively involved in funded projects, including the online detection of stress-corrosion cracking in aggressive environments using artificial intelligence and the development of thermally safe Li energy storage systems tailored for the UAE environment.
