Dr. Ahmed Ihab Abdelaziz Fahmy is a Professor of Human Genetics & Molecular Medicine at Newgiza University, where he also serves as Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Director of the Health Sciences Research Center. He is a visiting professor at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. A clinical geneticist and consultant, Dr. Fahmy heads the Molecular Diagnostic Unit at the Genetic Diagnostic Center. His research focuses on the non-coding transcriptome in cancer and liver pathology. An accomplished researcher with over 60 publications, he is also an inventor of a European patent for diagnostic methods using lncRNAs for the early diagnosis and therapy of liver cancer.
