Dr. Nisreen Alwan is a Professor of Environmental Health and Safety at Abu Dhabi University, where she also previously served as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. With a PhD in Natural Sciences, her expertise bridges environmental science and public health. Her research focuses on critical areas such as food safety, exposure to environmental contaminants (mycotoxins, microplastics, toxic metals), and public health interventions. An award-winning researcher and Advance HE Senior Fellow, Dr. Alwan is actively involved in community outreach and has secured numerous grants to support her work on promoting sustainable and healthy environments.
