Frequently asked questions under the category of financial aid and scholarship at ADU

A variety of scholarships and financial aid are available to undergraduate students only.

For postgraduate students, a selection of merit scholarships are available, as well as our Alumni waiver.

You can check the status of your financial aid or scholarship application through the online self-service or by contacting the Scholarships & Financial Aid office on +971 2 5015903 or by email at Finaid@adu.ac.ae. You will also be notified by email regarding the status of your application.

For undergraduate students, the processing time to activate your request depends on the type of benefit. Financial aid may require 7-10 working days based on the completion of the application. For scholarships, the student will be notified after completing the required credit hours and the processing time is 2-3 working days.
For postgraduate students, ADU offers a merit-based waiver in addition to an alumni waiver. This is created automatically during admission.

Financial aid is dependent on the financial status of your family which may change from time to time. To retain your financial aid, you must maintain a CGPA of 2.75 and pass six credit hours. (Terms and conditions apply.)
ADU does not offer financial aid for postgraduate students. However, ADU offers a merit-based waiver for students with a CGPA of 3.5 and above in their bachelor's degree.

Yes, financial aid deadlines can be found in the academic calendar on the ADU website and the deadline for scholarships is aligned with the admission deadline.
For postgraduate students the application is created automatically during the admission process, so an application does not need to be submitted. The deadline is aligned with the admission deadline.

As the scholarship and financial aid applications are online, you need a student ID number to apply using the self-service system. The system also requires you to be registered in a program to calculate the funding you will receive based on the tuition fees for that particular program.

Courses will be dropped for scholarship or financial aid students only if the student does not complete the required payment.

Academic integrity is part of the eligibility criteria for scholarships, financial aid, merit-based and alumni waiver.

A study of the total income and expenses of the family is required for assessing the request for financial aid.

For financial aid, a student can receive between 10% - 30% depending on circumstances. For scholarships, a student could receive up to 50% scholarship depending on the high school average, major and campus. (Terms and conditions apply.)

ADU's Scholarship & Financial Aid policy states that a student can only receive one benefit at a time from ADU.

ADU accepts any external sponsorship. Usually, the sponsor will specify the sponsorship rules and regulations.

All types of scholarship at ADU are offered for full-time students. The student should register and complete 12 credit hours by the end of the semester as part of the scholarship eligibility criteria.
Undergraduate students can apply for the Athletic Scholarship after they have completed one semester at ADU and if they are part of an ADU sports team. A recommendation from the coach is required and the student CGPA should be 2.75 or above. (Terms and conditions apply.)
The Athletic Scholarship is not available to postgraduate students.

Yes, this is our family tuition waiver for undergraduate students. The amount depends on the number of siblings registered in the same semester and can reach up to 25%.

We do not currently have a special needs scholarship. However, students with special needs are eligible to apply for scholarships or financial aid.
