With a five-year degree in Architecture, a Master’s in Territorial Planning and Real Estate Markets, and a PhD in Business and Informatics from the Salford University of Greater Manchester (UK), she is Full Professor of Appraisal and Valuation and Vice-Rector for the Sustainable Campus and Living Lab at the Politecnico di Torino. Previously, she served as Vice-Rector and, for two consecutive terms (2012–2018), Director of the Interuniversity Department of Sciences, Projects and Policies for the Territory. She founded and chaired for six consecutive years, starting in 2019, the RUS – Network of Universities for Sustainable Development, and currently serves as Chair of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Italy Chapter. She has held several public appointments, including: Member of the Technical Mission Structure of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and of the Permanent Oversight Structure of TELT during the Draghi Government; Expert Member of the Consultation Group on Advanced Materials supporting the European Commission (appointed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research) since 2023; Member of the GEV Third Mission Committee of ANVUR – the National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research – for two VQR cycles; and Member of the Evaluation Board of the University of Bologna for two terms. Internationally recognized for her work on sustainable development assessment of the built environment and smart cities, she has coordinated and conducted extensive research through competitive funding calls for over thirty years. She develops interactive and participatory decision-support tools, such as Multicriteria Spatial Decision Support Systems, and systems for measuring the social value of urban regeneration programs. Her research also focuses on ESG sustainability assessment of processes and products for public and private organizations, using KPI selection and weighting methodologies. She is the author of over 270 publications (Google Scholar h-index 38, with more than 6,700 citations) and serves on the editorial boards of several international scientific journals, including Engineering Construction and Architectural Management, Energies, and the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education. She was named Honorary Fellow of Western Sydney University in 2023 and has received three career awards: the 2021 Career Award from AIDDA for her commitment to sustainable development; the 2018 Career Excellence Award from FIDAPA BPW Italy; and the 2012 Career Achievement Award from the Alumni of Salford University of Greater Manchester, along with several international scientific recognitions
