Winter Camp 2020

Entrepreneurship: How to Start Up Your Business & Taking Control of your Future

Introduction

Abu Dhabi University, in partnership with the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), is organizing a winter camp for young innovators. This week-long winter camp is targeted at high school students and is oriented around the theme ‘Entrepreneurship: How to Start Up Your Business’. The camp provides budding entrepreneurs with the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills and experiment with their innovative ideas in a safe and friendly environment. All participants will receive a certificate of completion from Abu Dhabi University, and the top three entrepreneurial projects will receive special prizes.

About the Winter Camp

Entrepreneurship is the rocket fuel of the 21st century. Markets are changing at an ever-increasing pace through digitalization, globalization and servitization. This fluidity of markets offers major opportunities for entrepreneurship. The majority of products and services are created in ecosystems with large and small companies, developers, and the public sector.

Starting your own business today is easier than ever before. All you need for a global startup is a laptop and Wi-Fi connection. Also, the government of the UAE has countless support instruments for entrepreneurs, as well as opportunities to engage with world-leading public sector innovation initiatives.

In this environment, young graduates need to develop entrepreneurial skills. Entrepreneurship has been defined as taking an idea to the market. This camp, unlike many innovation camps, focuses on this entrepreneurial process with tools and techniques required for bringing your idea to the commercial phase and establishing yourself as a commercial entity.
