For postgraduate programs, the minimum requirement is a CGPA of 2 for. For DBA, the minimum requirement is a CGPA of 3.

Most of our programs are conducted in English.
However, all of our College of Law programs are conducted in Arabic, and we offer the BA Mass Communication and Professional Diploma in Teaching in both English and Arabic.
All students applying for admission to the university will need to meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:
- 61 on the internet-based version of the TOEFL (iBT).
- A minimum overall score of 5.0 on the academic version of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent EmSAT 1100.
- 500 + in the Institutional TOEFL (ITP) which is administered by AMIDEAST.
- 79 on the internet-based version of the TOEFL (iBT).
- A minimum overall score of 6.0 on the academic version of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent EmSAT 1200+.
- 550 + in the Institutional TOEFL (ITP) which is administered by AMIDEAST.
The TOEFL, IELTS tests should have been taken no more than two years before admission to Abu Dhabi University. If the authenticity of the TOEFL/IELTS certificate is in doubt, the student will be requested to sit for the ITP TOEFL test at Abu Dhabi University.
At undergraduate level, students who do not meet the English language proficiency levels stated above will be required to take intensive English courses offered by the English Language Institute (ELI).
At postgraduate level, however, you must meet the minimum English language proficiency level required to be admitted on to a program.
English language proficiency tests are conducted by our sister company, Knowledge Group.
There is an application fee of 315 AED for undergraduate programs and 420 AED for postgraduate programs. In addition, a registration fee (payable upon admission) of 2,850 AED is required. These are all non-refundable.

Application fees are required to submit your full application to ADU and are 315 AED for undergraduate programs and 420 AED for postgraduate programs. This fee must be paid at the time of submitting your full application to ADU. It is non-refundable.
You can submit your ADU application online by visiting www.adu.ac.ae and clicking on ‘Apply Now’.

Yes, you can reserve a place on the program you have applied for. There is no fee to reserve a place.
Visiting students attend courses or undertake postgraduate research with the approval of the college concerned, without working toward a degree at Abu Dhabi University.
The student is responsible for accrediting/transferring the course/s taken to their home university. They should undertake the following:
- Provide evidence of English language proficiency
- Participate, at their choice, in registered course-work, and sit for the examinations set for that course
- Be given, at their request, a transcript of courses taken at Abu Dhabi University
Documents required for admission of visiting students are as follows:
- Completed online application form with the required application fee
- Copy of passport and residence visa, if applicable
- Photographs (to be uploaded in the online application)
- No-objection letter issued by the visiting student’s home university
- Copy of either IELTS or TOEFL or proof of English proficiency
- Copy of Emirates ID
Students who opt to complete their degree at Abu Dhabi University and change their status to that of regular student must meet the admission requirements.

Yes, you need to choose your courses.
Re-admission to ADU is based on two conditions:
- A former Abu Dhabi University student in good academic standing, whose enrollment at ADU has been voluntarily or involuntarily interrupted (for reasons such as financial issues, medical conditions, work-related issues, etc.), for more than one semester (excluding summer semesters). Those semesters include the semesters from which the student has withdrawn with the approval of the concerned Dean.
- A former Abu Dhabi University student who formally withdrew from ADU by completing a Withdrawal Request Form. The student must petition the Office of the Registrar in writing for re-admission. The re-admission process must be started at least two months prior to the beginning of the semester and the following should be provided:
- Reason for leaving ADU and reason for returning
- Current contact information
- Medical report for students who withdrew from for reasons of illness
- Clearance from ADU’s Finance Department
If the student meets the requirements, a committee comprised of the Provost, Dean of the concerned college, and the Registrar will review the request. In some cases, an interview with the student may be required. The committee will also evaluate the student’s transcripts and course syllabus.

No, GMAT is not required not any more.
You can declare your major at the end of the semester. A Declaration/Change Major Application form should be completed when you complete the minimum required courses. College approval is generally based on your academic status from the time you were admitted to the University.
A student in good standing may change their major anytime during the semester by filling out a Change Major Application Form at the college of the newly chosen major. If approved, the change will take effect in the next semester. Students under probation may only change their major once until a CGPA of 2.0 is achieved. Approval is generally based on the academic status from the time the student was admitted to the university.

Final grades are provided through the Student Self Service system. Access the Grade module in our Student Information System during the dates specified on the academic calendar.
The ADU Smart ID Card is an official identification card to allow registered students access to the E-gate and university-related events.
Log in to your Student Self Service account and access your profile. Add/change the number on the mobile section and select preferred contact number.
Yes. If you want to take a class without earning a certificate, diploma, or degree, you would be classified as an audit student. You need to complete an application for admission and fulfill any prerequisite requirement as outlined in the University Catalogue. Our Audit Students Policy will apply.
Log in to Student Self Service, select Enrollment and search for the class you wish to check.
The reason for a registration hold can be viewed on Student Self-Service under the Student Center option. Reasons include but are not limited to the following:
- Late fees – any outstanding fees should be paid at ADU Finance Department
- Students under Academic Support – students with a CGPA below 2.50 must meet their Academic Advisor to discuss their study plan and unblock their registration
- Academic Recovery Program – students under academic probation
- Missing documents – students who failed to submit required documents within the specified time limit. Contact Student Recruitment and Admission Office
- Missing Equivalency Letter – contact Student Recruitment and Admission Office
- Academic Integrity Issues - violation of the Academic Integrity Policy. Contact the Office of Academic Integrity

Go to Student Self Service and select the Enrollment option after you have registered your courses online. The Office of the Registrar can provide an official letter with a stamped class schedule after the add/drop period through the Student Online Support.
Yes, but it is not advisable. You would have to reactivate your records or apply for re-admission and this might delay your graduation date. The curriculum may also change.
