This leading-edge four-year program is offered to meet the needs of the dynamic airline industry in the MENA region and beyond. It will equip you with the technical skills, problem solving abilities and leadership competencies required for a successful career as an aviation practitioner.
Focusing on aviation common core study areas, in your final year you can opt for one of three concentrations: Flight Operations, Infrastructure Operations and Technical Systems. Open elective courses allow you to specialize further and strengthen your professional profile. The program includes practical exposure using flight training devices and various real and fast-time simulation platforms.
Originally the program was established to train students sponsored by Etihad to become future pilots but has evolved to meet the needs of the aviation industry more comprehensively, giving you more options for aviation career routes and has been benchmarked against similar programs internationally.
“I enjoy challenging my students to look at things in a different way.”
"Although a young university, ADU is very forward thinking. I’ve enjoyed contributing to the redevelopment of the program, making it relevant to budding pilots and non-flyers alike.
I enjoy challenging my students to look at things in a different way. Coming from a very individualistic environment, I’ve been taught to succeed on my own merit so I encourage my students to move away from the group mentality. At the same time, I like to think I make learning fun – I’m not rigid in my teaching and my door is always open."
Tuition is based upon the College and/or Department classification as opposed to the course classification or level. Tuition rates for undergraduate students vary from the tuition rates for graduate students.
The tuition fee calculations are an example only and are based on the assumption that elective courses will be taken with the College that the student is taking their major with. However, if the student selects elective courses outside of this College, the total cost payable may increase or decrease to reflect the tuition rate of the College where the elective is delivered.
Costs of books and supplies are not included in the Tuition and Fees. Students at Abu Dhabi University are also required to pay certain fees and other costs to attend the University. Abu Dhabi University reserves the right to change tuition and fee rates at any time. A tuition schedule is published prior to registration for each semester.

Graduates are equipped to work in a variety of sectors of the aviation industry including ground support services and operations in airports, in industry and state safety oversight, or in the aerospace industry.
Flight safety and aviation regulation, business analysis and aviation research and development, and commercial and customer operations are other sectors relevant to graduates of this program.
Graduates with a concentration in Flight Operations are also well prepared to continue training within flight schools and obtain a commercial or airline pilot license. Many graduates of this program have become pilots for leading airlines such as Etihad Airways
