Overview

Offered by the College of Engineering in collaboration with ADU’s College of Business and Purdue University’s Calumet campus in the USA, this unique program consists of six engineering courses and four business courses.

Aimed at all engineering disciplines and technology professionals, this program will provide you with a wide range of technical and business skills to enhance your analytical and decision-making abilities - skills needed as you take on more senior management roles. You will be exposed to best practice in system engineering, quality management, project management and supply chain management, as well as strategic management, risk management, accounting and innovation.

The program will equip you to make responsible engineering and business decisions including planning and strategic management, modelling and design, and to use quality standards in the assessment of engineering systems. In addition, you will take courses that qualify you to take the Six Sigma green belt certification.

This program offers an alternative MBA route to engineers who seek to improve their engineering education at the same time as acquiring superior business and management skills and the ability to manage engineers from a range of disciplines.

Our partnership with Purdue Northwest University

The university, one of the oldest and most distinguished in the United States, has been highly influential in America's history in fields such as aviation, aeronautical and astronautical engineering having educating 22 US astronauts, including Neil Armstrong and Eugene Cernan who were the first and last astronauts to have walked on the moon.

Over the years, Purdue University has acquired an international reputation for excellence in its wide-ranging curriculum and diverse research activities.

“I was able to reduce power interruptions from 16% to 9%.”

"I originally selected ADU for reasons of convenience. I work in Abu Dhabi and needed an institution that offered flexible class schedules and evening courses. The international accreditations held by ADU gave me confidence that I would receive a quality degree but I didn’t anticipate what happened next.

As part of the Quality Engineering course I carried out research into ‘Reducing the Interruption of Power Distribution: A Six Sigma Application’. I took real data from the relevant entity and analyzed it over a period of six months. Using only the quality tool, I was able to reduce power interruptions from 16% to 9%.”

Tuition is based upon the College and/or Department classification as opposed to the course classification or level. Tuition rates for undergraduate students vary from the tuition rates for graduate students.

The tuition fee calculations are an example only and are based on the assumption that elective courses will be taken with the College that the student is taking their major with. However, if the student selects elective courses outside of this College, the total cost payable may increase or decrease to reflect the tuition rate of the College where the elective is delivered.

Costs of books and supplies are not included in the Tuition and Fees. Students at Abu Dhabi University are also required to pay certain fees and other costs to attend the University. Abu Dhabi University reserves the right to change tuition and fee rates at any time. A tuition schedule is published prior to registration for each semester.

For more information, please click here to view the University's tuition fee structure. Fees are subject to change during the year as per government charges and testing bodies.

Career opportunities

The program will prepare you to advance into critical engineering management positions in key sectors where engineering disciplines and engineering management are crucial.  Engineering disciplines are a driving force in the UAE economy and graduates of this program can expect to lead and manage projects in UAE engineering-based industries, as well as regionally and internationally.
