Exploring Global Trade and Cross-Cultural Strategy in the UAE
As part of Abu Dhabi University’s continued commitment to fostering international collaboration and cross-cultural learning, we were delighted to host a group of MBA students from North-West University in South Africa for an enriching academic exchange experience.
The visit featured a dynamic and thought-provoking seminar titled:
‘International Business Strategies: Bridging Cultures, Building Deals
Date: Wednesday, 25 June 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Room L-GF-5A, Abu Dhabi University
Delivered by Ross Davidson, Associate Professor in ADU’s College of Business, the session explored the intersection of international trade, business strategy, and cultural understanding in global deal-making. Attendees engaged with real-world case studies and examined how cultural intelligence plays a critical role in shaping successful international business negotiations.
Faculty and students from various business and international studies programs joined the session, contributing to a rich discussion on global economic integration and strategic decision-making across borders.
The visit also served as a valuable opportunity to explore avenues for academic collaboration between Abu Dhabi University and North-West University, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and curriculum development. It reinforced ADU’s drive to empower students with a global mindset and deepen institutional ties with universities across Africa and beyond.
