Students Join ADU for First-Ever COIL Exchange
University of Bradford
Abu Dhabi University proudly hosted students from the University of Bradford, UK, for a month-long exchange under its first Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Program—a milestone in ADU’s journey toward deeper global engagement and sustainability-focused education.
Throughout May and June 2025, visiting students partnered with their ADU peers in a rich blend of academic workshops, industry visits, cultural excursions, and joint sustainability projects. As part of the UN- and AIB-sponsored Global Sustainability Poster Competition, participants tackled critical global challenges such as climate change, child labor, waste management, tourism, and biodiversity.
The program featured:
- Interdisciplinary lectures led by ADU faculty in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and business
- Visits to prominent companies and organizations across the UAE
- Cultural experiences in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai showcasing the UAE’s heritage and development
- Collaborative sustainability projects and team-based research presentations
- Social and recreational activities that fostered meaningful cross-cultural connections
This pioneering initiative empowered students from both universities to expand their global outlook, enhance professional competencies, and build lasting academic partnerships. It marked a significant step toward shaping globally minded graduates prepared to lead in a more sustainable and interconnected world.
