Abu Dhabi Ports Occupational Health Week

Under the supervision of Dr. Nida Qafisheh, Coordinator of ADU’s EHS program, students enrolled in the Occupational Health and Safety course participated in the Abu Dhabi Ports Occupational Health Week event.

Under the theme ‘Together for Bright Future’, Occupational Health week was organized by the HSE (EHS) department of Abu Dhabi Ports. The event was held in Mina Zayed – Cruise Terminal and was opened to government participants, customers contractors, universities and high schools students.

The main objectives of the event were to demonstrate Abu Dhabi Ports management commitments toward occupational health and hygiene in the workplace, raising awareness and sharing knowledge in order to have healthy work environments and demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Under the supervision of Dr. Nida Qafisheh, Coordinator of ADU’s EHS program, students enrolled in the Occupational Health and Safety course participated in the event. The students designed a booth in which they presented their related models. Other students participated with research projects discussing the importance of occupational health and safety in the workplace.

The students were given the opportunity to participate in training and simulations related to occupational health and safety. They communicated with different industrial representatives who were also participating in the event.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Nida Qafisheh received Abu Dhabi Ports Special Honor trophy from the Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Terminals, Mr. Abdullah Humaid Al Hameli.

Abu Dhabi Ports Occupational Health week was covered by ADU marketing team in addition to the participation of Mr. Amer Altaweel from  Admissions.
