Architecture and Civil Engineering students make big win at AUS competitions

Competing in the Spaghetti Truss Bridge competition hosted by the American University of Sharjah, 12 teams made up of ADU Civil Engineering and Architecture students won all places from second to thirteenth.

Competing in the Spaghetti Truss Bridge competition hosted by the American University of Sharjah, 12 teams made up of ADU Civil Engineering and Architecture students won all places from second to thirteenth. There were 27 teams in total from ADU, AUS, UoS, AUD and Manipal. What an impressive result!

Architecture students Esra’a Abu El Rub, Leen Al Aissamy, Nouf Turkmani, and Maryam Shakir took second place and Al Ain Civil Engineering students Ahmed Farid, Mohammed Theeb, and Mahmoud Zakarya took third place.

Four teams from our Civil Engineering department also participated in the Hydraulic Arm competition for the first time with two of the teams taking fourth and fifth places.

Congratulations to all the students who represented Abu Dhabi University in the two competitions. You make us very proud.

Many thanks to Eng. Iman Abdul Kareem and Eng. Aya Dibajeh who guided the teams for more than a month, and to Eng. Akram who led the teams. Thanks also to Dr. Mohamed El Amrousi and Dr. Evan Paleologos for providing the required support as Department Chairs, and to Dr. Mohamed El Hakeem for supporting the groups during the competitions alongside Dr. Amrousi.
