The Ministry of Education (MOE) presented the 2nd Teachers Conference, which was part of the winter training week for the MOE’s staff, bringing together teachers from across the UAE. The overall aim of the conference is to educate, empower and motivate MOE teachers through presentations and workshops delivered by internal and external speakers, highlighting current important subject knowledge, relevant themes and examples of good practice.
Health sciences is a relatively new subject in government schools, with this being the second year for girls and first year for boys. The subject aims to improve the health and wellbeing of students and the wider community, providing students with the knowledge and skills to support healthy life choices for themselves and their families. The curriculum also prepares students for higher education, where they can study for a range of health-related careers. Emiratization is a key driver for the introduction of health sciences in government schools.
