The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) organized an introductory seminar on ‘Intellectual Property: Understanding how to Discover Patentable Innovations’, conducted by Mr. Abdul Basit, U.S. registered patent attorney. The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize faculty and students with the hot topic of intellectual property protection.

Mr. Basit explained the concept of patent law and understanding innovations, as well as cross-functional opportunities between technology fields providing engineering, business, and scientific solutions. He also explained his thoughts on how to innovate.
