Congratulations to Nada Abdulfattah Ali and  Ibrahim Sheibani, senior chemical and mechanical engineering students from our College of Engineering, on their success at the Regional Championship of the 14th Steel Challenge. The Steel Challenge is run annually by ‘Steel University’, part of the World Steel Association.

Our students, competing against students from UAE and West Asia universities over 24 hours, worked to produce a winning high quality and low-cost grade of steel.

As part of its commitment to investing in the development of future leaders in the regional steel sector, Emirates Steel was Silver Sponsor of the event. They assessed the performance of students taking part in the competition with a view to offering internships and employment opportunities. ADU’s Nada and Ibrahim were invited to submit their documents for the 2020 summer internship.

Emirates Steel hosted an awards ceremony and lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel, Maryah Island, to celebrate the competition.
