ADU IT and CSE students Obada Salman, Arooba Khalid, Hamda Fasla, Maryam Alamri, Rawan Elabyad, and Kevin John took 5th place in the 2020 MENA Regional Zoohackathon Competition organized by the USA Department of State represented by their embassy in Cairo.

The Zoohackathon is a global competition that challenges students to develop innovative tools to combat wildlife trafficking issues. Students were given a set of problems relating to wildlife trafficking and proposed an innovative solution to one of these problems.

As the event was virtual this year, the students spent 48 hours under the supervision of Dr. Murad Al-Rajab, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology, developing the solution and recording a video to present to the competition.
