Chartered Energy Engineer recently published a book chapter in one of the world’s most influential publisher, Springer Nature on the potential of offshore renewable energy applications in the United Arab Emirates. The research team, made up of Dr. Sharul Sham Dol, MEI C.Eng. Chartered Energy Engineer, Eng. Abid Abdul Azeez, Dr. Mohammad Sultan Khan, Eng. Abdulqader Abdullah Hasan, and Eng. Mohammed Alavi provides discussion and review on offshore renewable energy potential in the country, including conceptual novel designs for future investment to integrate the renewable technologies into the existing oilfield offshore facilities. The chapter proposes technology advancement in solar cells, wind turbines, and vortex-induced vibration generators to incorporate the local environment and conditions.
