Our mission is to conduct interdisciplinary research on critical global sustainability challenges, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to create meaningful, positive impacts on societies, environments, and drive economic resilience at local and international levels.
At RISF, we envision a future where sustainability is embedded in policy formulation and implementation. Our goals include mobilizing global interdisciplinary research teams, connecting UAE sustainability organizations with international agendas, and facilitating the transfer of sustainable practices and technologies. Focusing on key research themes such as sustainable healthcare and well-being, Sustainable Energy and Water management solutions, urban sustainability, and education, we aim to develop impactful projects that not only benefit the UAE but also extend our reach to support other nations.
Our research team, comprised of experts in engineering, architecture, health sciences, economics, and sustainable finance, focuses on providing practical solutions to complex industry challenges.
We invite researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders to collaborate with us in this essential mission. Together, we can drive meaningful change, foster resilience in our communities, and build a sustainable world for generations to come.

To mobilize ADU faculty and our international networks to support the formation of global interdisciplinary research teams.
To be a conduit for knowledge sharing and technology transfer on sustainability activities in the UAE.
To connect UAE sustainability organizations with the international policy and research agendas of strategic importance.
To facilitate the transfer of sustainability impact within the UAE and to developing nations.
To support policy formulation and implementation within the UAE.
To develop research themes and undertake research projects that contribute to sustainability.
Research centers are established to integrate the university research activities, foster interdisciplinary projects across Abu Dhabi University, and intensify collaboration with regional and international research institutes.
