Postgraduate Requirements
Abu Dhabi University welcomes applications from students of all nationalities throughout the academic year, with new cohort intakes scheduled in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer semesters. The following are required for admission.
EmSAT is required for specific programs. Please check the requirements for the program you intend to join.
Postgraduate Admission Requirements:
The following are the requirements for admission to our postgraduate courses in the UAE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- A minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0-point scale.
- Master degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0-point scale.
- Personal assessment: applicants will be required to successfully complete a panel interview with the DBA’s Admission Selection Committe.
- Work Experience: applicants must submit evidence of at least two (2) years of full-time work experience at a middle to upper management level
- A Bachelor’s degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- A minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a 4.0-point scale.
Postgraduate Documents required for admission:
The listed documents need to submit for the admission
- A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
- Non-refundable application fee.
- Copy of certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript (attested by the UAE Ministry of Education for graduates of universities in the UAE).
- Copy of the Emirates ID (if applicable).
- One passport-sized photograph.
- Copy of a valid passport and residency visa (if applicable).
- Original equivalency letter issued by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education for any qualification issued outside the UAE.
- A police clearance certificate ssued by any of the police departments located throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For detailed information regarding the Police Clearance Certificate, please click here.
- A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
- Non-refundable application fee.
- Copy of certified Master degree certificate and transcripts.
- Copy of certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript.
- Copy of Emirates ID (if applicable).
- One passport-sized photograph.
- Copy of a valid passport and residency visa (if applicable).
- Evidence of relevant work experience may be required.
- An official score report of Academic IELTS (6.0), English EmSat (1400), IBT TOEFL (79) or ITP TOEFL (550) (ITP taken at Amideast Institute only).
- A true copy of an equivalency letter from Ministry of Higher Education in UAE for applicants graduating from universities outside the UAE.
- A police clearance certificate ssued by any of the police departments located throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For detailed information regarding the Police Clearance Certificate, please click here.
- An application letter of 500 -1000 words.
- Success in the panel interview conducted by the College.
- A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
- Non-refundable application fee.
- Copy of certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript (attested by the UAE Ministry of Education for graduates of universities in the UAE).
- Copy of the Emirates ID (if applicable).
- One passport-sized photograph.
- Copy of a valid passport and residency visa (if applicable).
- Official transcripts and course syllabi from other universities for credit transfer if student would like to transfer courses to ADU.
- Evidence of relevant work experience may be required (for Master of Strategic Leadership, and Master of Education in Educational Leadership programs).
- Copy of Updated CV.
- Two Recommendation letters for Master of Engineering Management.
- A true copy of an equivalency letter from the UAE Ministry of Education for applicants graduating from universities outside the UAE, in addition to a true copy of the certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript.
- Original equivalency letter issued by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education for any qualification issued outside the UAE.
- For programs taught in English an official score report of Academic IELTS (6.0), English EmSat (1400), IBT TOEFL (79) or ITP TOEFL (550) (ITP taken at Amideast Institute only).
- For programs taught in Arabic such as Master in Law an official score report of Academic IELTS (4.5), English EmSat (950), IBT TOEFL (51) or ITP (550) (ITP taken at AmidEast Institute only), in addition to Arabic EmSat (1250).
- No Objection letter from National Service Department (for Male Emirati students).

- Beside a proof of 12 years of schooling for High school attested same and your high school attested same as your Backorder degrees for Ministry of Higher Education equivalency.
Upon receiving your acceptance to ADU
Acceptance to ADU
Upon receiving your acceptance to ADU, the following is required to complete the admission process
- Initial payment of US $5000 to our Finance Department. This includes student health insurance AED 800, maintenance deposit AED 1000, and registration fee AED 2850.
- The remaining amount will be transferred towards the course fee. Kindly note that the remaining amount will not cover the whole program fees. The fee structure will be attached with your admission offer.
- If accommodation is required, the housing form and the medical form are to be filled and forwarded. They will be attached with your admission offer.
- ADU Bank Account details for payment transfer will be disclosed once you receive your acceptance.
- An offer of admission extended to an applicant will be valid for only one academic year starting from the academic semester for which the applicant applied.
Before Applying
- Applicants must complete the application themselves.
- The following are the requirements to complete the online application for postgraduation admission. You will need a soft copy of the following documents for uploading. All documents to be uploaded must be in PDF (for single or multiple pages) or JPEG format (for images).
- You may complete your application in more than one session. You can always save your application and complete it later.
- Applicants must complete their online application procedure by the established deadline listed on www. adu.ac.ae.
- All items marked with an asterisk (*) must be filled in. Incomplete applications will delay the admission process.
- To complete your online application, you will need a valid credit card to pay the application fee.
- The application fee can be paid online using any major credit card.
- First-time users will need to register to create an account. You must choose a login username and password between 6 and 9 alphanumeric characters. An authentication code will be sent to your registered email, please check spam folder.
- For existing students or previously admitted students, you should use the same log in credentials. Please contact the Admission Office for more information.
- Once an application and the required documents have been submitted, a response will be provided within one week from the date of submission. Admission offers are valid for one academic year only. A student who does not register within the same academic year will have to reapply.
- Students dismissed from other academic institutes for academic integrity offenses will not be admitted to Abu Dhabi University.
