Our brand-new MBA in Tourism and Event Management offered in collaboration with Griffith University Australia, one of the top universities known internationally for Tourism and Event Management, will provide you with the knowledge and skills to be part of the exciting tourism and event management industries.
Along with the MBA curriculum, you will study Tourism and Event Marketing, Sustainable Tourism Management and Event Management. You will learn how to evaluate local and international trends and challenges in event management and develop an event management plan, design effective integrated marketing communication strategies for organizations involved in the tourism and event management sector and, focusing on sustainability, you will analyze strategic and operational issues in the tourism industry and recommend appropriate strategies to address them.
You will be immersed in a stimulating and diverse blend of case studies, exercises, group work, simulations and lectures provided by the MBA program. The concentration courses will be delivered by both ADU and Griffith University faculty; you will receive your degree from ADU and a certificate of completion from Griffith University.
Our unique six term structure offers you ultimate flexibility in terms of start date and study schedule and means you can complete your master’s degree in one year. It also allows you to better manage your workload as you take only two courses per term delivered in the evenings and weekends. Ours is the only such program in the UAE that offers such flexibility.

Griffith University attracts Australia’s largest student cohort in hotel and tourism related degrees. It is accredited by the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects places Griffith second in the world for Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Students should note that up to two concentration courses may only be offered in our Abu Dhabi campus only.

Dr Saju has taught extensively in Australian universities including Queensland University of Technology, Queensland Institute of Business, and Griffith University. He was awarded a PhD in Marketing from Griffith University in 2011. He joined ADU in 2012 where, as well as his teaching duties, he works in the role of International Exchange Coordinator.
“I started my academic career in Australia and my connections there have been instrumental in forging three key international partnerships for ADU – with Queensland University of Technology, Monash University and Griffith University. The Tourism and Event Management MBA concentration is the result of an important collaboration between ADU and Griffiths University.
This collaborative program is the first of its kind in the UAE relating specifically to the field of Tourism and Event Management. Griffiths University is internationally renowned for its degrees in event management, international tourism, and hotel management and two out of the three concentration courses are taught by visiting faculty from Griffiths University. Graduates of the program not only receive an MBA from ADU but are also awarded a Certificate in Tourism and Event Management from Griffith Business School.”
Tuition is based upon the College and/or Department classification as opposed to the course classification or level. Tuition rates for undergraduate students vary from the tuition rates for graduate students.
The tuition fee calculations are an example only and are based on the assumption that elective courses will be taken with the College that the student is taking their major with. However, if the student selects elective courses outside of this College, the total cost payable may increase or decrease to reflect the tuition rate of the College where the elective is delivered.
Costs of books and supplies are not included in the Tuition and Fees. Students at Abu Dhabi University are also required to pay certain fees and other costs to attend the University. Abu Dhabi University reserves the right to change tuition and fee rates at any time. A tuition schedule is published prior to registration for each semester.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for work in a range of national and international tourism and event management roles including in hotels and restaurants, entertainment and leisure providers, conference and event organizers, as well as suppliers of goods and services to these industries.
The acquisition of a master’s degree demonstrates a high level of knowledge in your chosen field. You may use it to enhance your employability, as preparation for further academic research or as a means of professional training.
Directly related discipline with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a 4.00-point scale, from an accredited university recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs.
For programs taught in English, a minimum score range of 1400 - 1525 on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination, or its equivalent on other national or internationally-recognized tests that are approved by the CAA, such as TOEFL scores of 213 CBT (Computer-Based Test), 79 - 80 IBT (Internet-Based Test), 550 PBT (Paper-Based Test), or 6.0 IELTS (taken at Amideast or Knowledge Group), or their equivalent.
Students who are native speakers of English, and have completed their undergraduate education in an institution where the medium of instruction is English may be exempted from the English Proficiency Tests.
Applicants with CGPA’s and English Proficiency Test scores that don’t match the above requirements may be granted exceptions for conditional admission. We also welcome applications from students with a variety of bachelor degrees from an accredited university recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs, upon their successful completion of any required program foundation courses. These applicants will be granted admission into the program after the successful completion of some business foundation courses.
