Overview

An advanced degree in civil engineering will enable you to advance your technical expertise in this broad and continually developing profession, giving you a competitive edge in your professional practice.

The program will enhance your core knowledge in all the essential areas of civil engineering, from structural design and construction management, to transportation planning, water resources management and environmental engineering. Additional specialized courses will enhance your skills in concentrations of your choice.

An innovative feature of this program is its two-track system: a professional project option, with a three-credit project and nine graduate courses, or a thesis option, with a six-credit research thesis and eight courses. In addition to the core subjects, courses are offered in urban transportation planning, construction project management, water resources, waste water treatment, earthquake engineering, advanced soil mechanics, and groundwater.

The program perfectly blends academic study with the development of practical and professional skills to fully prepare you to excel in a multi-faceted engineering environment.

“We are challenged to be innovative.”

Ahmad completed his Bachelor in Civil Engineering at ADU in 2012. He enrolled on a Master’s degree in 2017 to keep himself ahead of the field in his chosen profession.

“It’s a fast-developing university -  I admire the fact that it has come so far in such a short time and is building a solid reputation world-wide for excellence in teaching and innovation. The MSc Civil Engineering program is one of the strongest in the UAE, with its curriculum responding quickly to market needs.

The support and encouragement I receive from the highly qualified faculty, particularly in the areas of research & development, has made all the difference to me. As a master’s student, I am challenged to be innovative and develop my research skills: the superior lab facilities support this.

Everything I have learnt - at both undergraduate and postgraduate level – has been highly applicable in my career so far and I am excited to see where my master’s qualification will take me.”

Tuition is based upon the College and/or Department classification as opposed to the course classification or level. Tuition rates for undergraduate students vary from the tuition rates for graduate students.

The tuition fee calculations are an example only and are based on the assumption that elective courses will be taken with the College that the student is taking their major with. However, if the student selects elective courses outside of this College, the total cost payable may increase or decrease to reflect the tuition rate of the College where the elective is delivered.

Costs of books and supplies are not included in the Tuition and Fees. Students at Abu Dhabi University are also required to pay certain fees and other costs to attend the University. Abu Dhabi University reserves the right to change tuition and fee rates at any time. A tuition schedule is published prior to registration for each semester.

For more information, please click here to view the University's tuition fee structure. Fees are subject to change during the year as per government charges and testing bodies.
