Master of Engineering Management – Updated Delivery Mode
The Ministry of Education has approved a blended learning model for our Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program at the College of Engineering. This new format offers the flexibility you need to balance your studies with work and life commitments. The following will now be delivered online:
- Two courses (MEM501 and MEM506)
- 50% of the Master Thesis course on Research Methods (MEM599A)

This Masters in Engineering Management program offers its students unique opportunities for advanced education in the field of engineering management as well as opportunities for leadership growth at personal and professional levels-new. It is focused on advanced economics, quality management, and operations and supply chain management.
About the program
The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program is offered by the College of Engineering (CoE) in collaboration with the College of Business.
The program curriculum consists of 10 courses (30 credit hours), of which 6 are engineering courses and 4 are business courses. The students could also do a research project in lieu of one elective course. The program accepts students with a bachelor’s degree in all engineering discipline, architecture, computer science or IT. This Masters in Engineering Management program offers its students unique opportunities for advanced education in the field of engineering management as well as opportunities for leadership growth at personal and professional levels-new. It is focused on advanced economics, quality management, and operations and supply chain management. An alternative to an MBA in Engineering Management program, this MEM program is offered to engineers who are looking to improve their engineering education and acquiring business and management skills.
This program has been introduced at Abu Dhabi University in response to the UAE market needs where engineering is driving all sectors of the industry and where engineering managerial positions are crucial to the UAE firms. The graduates of this program will train Emirati and expatriate professionals to lead and manage projects in the UAE engineering-based industries.

Entry requirements
Bachelors Degree
Directly related discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4.00-point scale, from an accredited university recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs.
English language proficiency requirements
For master program taught in English, an Official score report of international TOEFL (IBT) 79 or the ITP 550 (taken at Amideast) or the Academic IELTS 6.0 must be taken no more than two years prior to admission, or English EmSat minimum score of 1400 no more than 18 month prior to admission to Abu Dhabi University.
Students with a recognized bachelor’s degree and an EmSAT score of 1250, English Academic IELTS Score 5.5, or equivalent on another standardized test approved by the Ministry, can be granted conditional admission for one semester, and may take a maximum of six credit hours in the first semester of study.
International Students
We also welcome applications from students with a variety of bachelor degrees from an accredited university recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs, upon their successful completion of any required program foundation courses. These applicants will be granted admission into the program after the successful completion of some business foundation courses. Transfer Students
Postgraduate transfer students may apply for credit transfer for courses taken prior to joining Abu Dhabi University only once, when they first apply for admission. For more information on requirements for credit transfer, visit Postgraduate Transfer Students.
Tuition fees structure & calculation
Tuition is based upon the College and/or Department classification as opposed to the course classification or level. Tuition rates for undergraduate students vary from the tuition rates for graduate students.
The tuition fee calculations are an example only and are based on the assumption that elective courses will be taken with the College that the student is taking their major with. However, if the student selects elective courses outside of this College, the total cost payable may increase or decrease to reflect the tuition rate of the College where the elective is delivered.
Costs of books and supplies are not included in the Tuition and Fees. Students at Abu Dhabi University are also required to pay certain fees and other costs to attend the University. Abu Dhabi University reserves the right to change tuition and fee rates at any time. A tuition schedule is published prior to registration for each semester.
