About our College of Health Sciences
The College of Health Sciences is home to undergraduate programs in Public Health and Environmental Health and Safety, Biomedical Sciences (Laboratory Medicine), Molecular and Medical Genetics, and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. In addition, the College offers a growing portfolio of postgraduate programs, including the Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership, Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Genomics and Precision Medicine, designed to prepare graduates for advanced professional practice, research, and leadership roles in the rapidly evolving healthcare sector.
The collective educational mission of the College is to provide students with a broad and flexible multidisciplinary curriculum, producing graduates equipped with both theoretical and practical knowledge related to their chosen discipline, as well as strong scientific and technical foundations.
Students develop the ability to analyse, evaluate, and communicate effectively with patients, their families, and fellow professionals. They are also provided with opportunities to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate research while developing an appreciation of global and societal health challenges, preparing them not only for careers in the health sciences but also for leadership positions within the healthcare sector.
Our programs fall under the broad umbrella of Allied Health Professions. Some are predominantly laboratory-based, while others are more patient-facing, and all are aligned with the growing healthcare workforce needs of the UAE. The College has established Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading healthcare and industry partners, including SEHA, VPS Healthcare (Burjeel), Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Mediclinic, National Rehabilitation Center, Universal Hospital, Gulf Diagnostic Center, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Ports, ADVETI (Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute), CAMFIL (Indoor Air Quality), Ittihad Paper Mill, Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, and Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center. We also maintain close collaborations with OSHAD (Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Center) and ADFCA (Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority), as well as international partnerships with renowned universities in Canada and the United States, including the University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, and the University of Arizona, providing students with valuable opportunities for clinical training, research, and academic collaboration.
