This course is about the use of modern statistical methods for quality control and improvement. With comprehensive coverage of the subject from basic principles to state-of-the-art concepts and applications, participants with learn the principles and how to apply them in a variety of product and non-product situations.
While statistical techniques are emphasized throughout, the course has a strong engineering and management orientation. Guidelines on selecting the proper type of statistical technique to use in a wide variety of product and non-product situations are discussed. Through theory and supporting examples, participants will gain a clear understanding of the important concepts.

Dr. Al-Bashir has 15 years experience in cost accounting, cost control and estimation in international companies. He received his Ph.D. from Florida State University in industrial and systems engineering, specializing in statistical and quality engineering, as well as optimization techniques for production and maintenance improvement. He is currently a faculty member at the Hashemite University – Industrial Engineering department, Jordan.
An experienced practitioner in project management and control, risk management, data analysis and interpretation, he previously worked as a project control manager in Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCIC) across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Dr. Al-Bashir has also supervised and conducted research on problem solving and decision analysis for companies in Jordan utilizing TQM, Six Sigma, simulation, statistical analysis, decision analysis and project management tools in his research and consultancy work.
