Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), Dubai, hosted its 18th Annual Inter-College Environmental Public Speaking Competition in Arabic and English with participation from students across the GCC, Levant, and North Africa regions. The two-day event, ending at Dubai Knowledge Village, brought together over 380 like-minded students to speak on environmental conservation topics including ‘Sustainable Built Environment: Are We Achieving It?’, ‘Impact of Fashion and Make-up Industry on the Environment’, ‘The Future of Agriculture in the Middle East’, and ‘The Impact of Wars on the Environment’.  The competition is held annually to raise awareness of and share different perspectives on environmental issues among our future leaders.

A team of five students from ADU, supported by University College, competed in the competition speaking about ‘The Impact of Wars on the Environment.’ Participation in the competition helps our students achieve high levels of excellence in research, teamwork, leadership, and speaking skills, as well as providing amazing opportunities to interact with outstanding students from other universities. The highlights of our team’s presentation were a video perfectly synchronized with the speech and background music that set the tone for each section of the presentation. Although the ADU team did not win this year, it was a successful day enjoyed by everyone.
