Submission Guidelines

  • Submission Format: Authors should submit a copy of their paper in Microsoft Word (doc.) or (docx) format, on the Submit a Manuscript tab.
  • Manuscript Length: Papers should be typed double-spaced, in Times New Roman, size 13, and should not be more than 7,000 words in length including the abstract and excluding the references. Authors should include their names (first and last name), their affiliation, a 3-line bio and their current email address for correspondence.
  • Headings and Subheadings: Headings and subheadings should be used throughout the text to divide the subject matter into its important, logical parts. Typical headings include: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Theoretical Background, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, References, and Appendices. Abbreviations should be spelled out when first used in the text.
  • Abstract: Authors should submit a short abstract written in English and another one in Arabic (we can provide translation service) up to 200 words each on the first page, with a translated title, clearly indicating the object and scope of the paper as well as the results achieved.
  • Keywords: Keywords should be included at the end of the abstract page.

  • Illustrations and Tables: Each illustration should be prepared and inserted in the specific place in the article; tables should be numbered consecutively and must have descriptive headings.
  • References: References have to be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order using the APA style – 7th edition. Throughout the paper, references are pointed to by using the family name of the author and the year of publication in parentheses and separated by a comma, such as: Salamon, 1994, (Farah et al., 1998).
  • Copyright Transfer: When the article is accepted for publication, the authors or the principal author on behalf of all authors should sign the transfer of all copyrights related to the article to the Deanship of Academic Research/ADU.
  • Editorial Changes: The Editorial Board reserves all rights to make stylistic and/or grammatical changes.
  • Final Decisions: The Editorial Board’s decisions regarding suitability for publication are final.

Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards: Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.
  • Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review.
  • Originality and Plagiarism: The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
  • Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Information obtained in the course of confidential services, such as refereeing manuscripts or grant applications, must not be used without the explicit written permission of the author of the work involved in these services.
  • Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where others have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
  • Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, the author must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
