Undergraduate Research Funding Awarded to Students
The ORSP provides students with the opportunity to receive an Undergraduate Research Scholarship that can be used to support high-potential research.
The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) strongly advocates incorporating scientific research into the university academic experience as a part of the Learning Through Research initiative. The ORSP provides students with the opportunity to receive an Undergraduate Research Scholarship that can be used to support high-potential research. The purpose of this scholarship is to enhance research skills at an early stage to boost career opportunities and instill critical skills for life beyond university. Programs such as these also contribute to the commitment towards Abu Dhabi’s vision of being a knowledge-based community.
This year, we received 60 applications from approximately 170 students. These students have demonstrated an excellent academic record and were granted funding up to AED3,500 per project. This funding may be used to purchase items relevant to the research or rewarded as a payment for the student’s effort and time. Awarded students will be required to present their work in the Undergraduate Research Competition that will be held on 29 April 2019. The ORSP extends its appreciation to all faculty members who sought out students and agreed to supervise them as mentors.
