Environmental Health & Safety Students Participate in ADIPEC 2018

A field trip to Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC 2018) was organized by Dr. Nida Qafisheh (Coordinator of Environmental Health and Safety Program).

A field trip to Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC 2018) was organized by Dr. Nida Qafisheh (Coordinator of Environmental Health and Safety Program). As part of their co-curricular activities, EHS students managed to sharpen their knowledge and experience about the best and the latest health and safety practices and technology in the field of Oil & Gas. They had the opportunity to meet the professionals and managers in different national and international companies like ADNOC, Mubadala, Exon Mobile, OXY, BP, Honeywell, ARCO, MSA, etc. They were engaged as well in many workshops organized by Young ADIPEC and different training companies.

ADIPEC has grown exponentially to become the world’s meeting point for oil and gas professionals. Today, over $9 billion of business is done during the exhibition, placing ADIPEC at the very heart of international business of the global energy sector. 2,200 exhibiting companies, 980 speakers, 161 conference sessions and more than 110,000 attendees participated in ADIPEC 2018.

EHS students had the chance to visit the Offshore & Marine section in which they had a tour in different ships which were displayed at waterfront area. They were guided about the safety procedures and regulations, and how to identify different types of hazards along with the risk assessment.
