On the 17th of January 2019, ADU’s College of Engineering hosted the 8th Emirates Space Innovation Group workshop in collaboration with the UAE Space Agency, with delegates from over 20 universities, companies and government organizations participating.

Issues presented and discussed:
- Constraints of the space environment, space orbital mechanics, science and earth observation missions and payloads, navigation missions and architectures, telecommunications, platform techniques/technologies, propulsion, onboard computing architecture, electrical architecture, advanced integration technology, and science and earth observation missions and payloads
- An update on the Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) roadmap
- The status and future of ongoing projects
- An analysis of the proposed and prioritized initiatives submitted by ADU’s Department of Aviation
- Updates on proposed and approved projects for research and development (R&D)
