Students from around the UAE came together to compete in the UAE National Tournament of Minds (TOM) hosted by Abu Dhabi University in May. This is the second year that the UAE has participated in TOM. Originally an Australian program launched 30 years ago, TOM has become an international opportunity for students to think, create, and perform  in multi-grade teams in STEM, the Arts, and Language Literature. Students participate on both an eight week long-term challenge question as well as a spontaneous challenge on tournament day where they had only four minutes to come up with a creative solution.

The excitement and intensity created an electric vibe and at the end of the event six teams were crowned National Champions: Raha International School (primary) and Canadian International School (secondary) in the Arts category; the British School Al Khubairat (primary) and Brighton College Dubai (secondary) in the Language Literature category; and Raha International School (primary) and Al Yasmina Academy (secondary) in the STEM category.
