ADU launched its 8th undergraduate research competition, which is the largest competition for undergraduate students in the Arab world, to support the university’s ‘learning through research’ initiative which aims to foster an enquiry-based culture within students to support the development of future work skills. The focus of this year’s competition is from ideation to commercialization. For the first time competition participants have the opportunity to transform their creativity from ideation to possible commercialization. Students can choose to have their submission entered into Abu Dhabi University’s start-up Launchpad Program. A panel of experts will evaluate submissions potential for commercialization. Five successful teams will join the 2021 Launchpad cohort where they will receive expert mentoring, access to ADU’s incubation facilities, financial support for start-up licensing costs and a AED 10,000 cash injection to support their business plan.

This year’s competition is made possible by the generous sponsorship of ExxonMobil.
