The partnership aims to advance healthcare innovation, scientific research, and clinical innovation through a dedicated platform for reproductive medicine research and clinical collaboration.

Under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) successfully concluded the 13th edition of the Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (URIC). Convening more than 1,350 undergraduate students presenting over 500 research papers from over 71 universities across the region and beyond, the competition focused on 24 strategic disciplines including healthcare, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, aligning with the UAE’s national priorities under We the UAE 2031, which focuses on building a competitive knowledge economy, empowering future talent, and fostering innovation-driven sustainable development.

In a significant step toward advancing inclusion and accessible innovation, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has secured a patent for “HearMe,” an AI-powered multilingual sign language translation application designed to facilitate seamless communication for individuals with hearing impairments across different countries. The platform was developed by ADU’s Dr. Modafar Ati, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology, in collaboration with alumna Ms. Reem Al Bostami, a graduate of the BSc in Information Technology program. HearMe application aligns with the objectives set by the UAE’s National Policy for Empowering People of Determination, which aims to reduce inequalities, promote equity and enhance digital literacy for People of Determination.

ADU participated in the 5th University Presidents for Peace Conference, hosted by Hiroshima University in collaboration with the Association of Arab Universities.

Abu Dhabi University participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, represented by Professor Sherine Farouk, Assistant Chancellor for Global Partnerships and Impact.
Professor Farouk took part in the World University Leaders Forum (WULF) side event, ‘Universities in Global Governance: Advancing the SDGs through Knowledge, Policy, and Partnership.’ The panel, made up of senior academic leaders and higher education experts from leading institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and India, explored how universities can move beyond advocacy to deliver measurable impact through research, education, and partnerships that inform policy and practice.
The themes discussed align closely with Abu Dhabi University’s strategic priorities and the UAE’s national agenda, reinforcing its commitment to global engagement, SDG-aligned research, and partnerships that connect academic insight with policy and real-world impact.
During the visit, Professor Farouk also visited the UAE House in Davos, which showcases the country’s forward-looking vision and leadership in sustainability, innovation, and international cooperation.

Abu Dhabi University’s Chancellor, Prof. Ghassan Aouad, participated in a panel discussion on collaboration in the MENA region at the AACSB Elevate Conference 2026 in Tunis, expertly moderated by Mr Ihsan Zakri, the Vice President at AACSB, and also featuring Prof. Abdulla Al-Hawaj, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ahlia University in Bahrain, and Dean Ayşegül Toker from Sabancı Business School in Turkey. The discussion addressed the current state of regional collaboration, the need for enabling infrastructure and institutional mindsets, and the role of business schools in driving innovation and partnerships.
