Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU)  Montasir Qasymeh, inventor and professor of electrical engineering professor, was granted two patents in the field of quantum technology from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). As part of the university’s efforts in fostering innovation and research across various industries, ADU has supported Prof. Montasir across the different stages of his project development where the U.S. based federal agency awarded the patents as a result of two breakthrough inventions.

Engraving a national success story, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) announced as the 59^th best university in Asia according to the Time Higher Education Asia University Rankings (THE) for the year 2023. Solidifying its position as a leading academic institution in the region, ADU has also been ranked among the top four universities and first for teaching in the UAE in recognition for its excellence in academia, research and educational experience. The University is amongst the top academic institutions in all of Asia, competing with over 669 universities from over 31 countries, that were evaluated in the rankings.

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) College of Engineering, hosted the first 5ire Web3 and Blockchain Hackathon in collaboration with 5ire, a fifth-generation blockchain ecosystem, and in partnership with MetaDecrypt, an industry-leading Metaverse and Blockchain development company. Witnessing the participation of 50 teams representing nine universities across the UAE, the event comes in a bid to further enhance students’ knowledge of blockchain technology and innovation and to strengthen blockchain education, research and entrepreneurship.

In line with Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) community engagement strategy and the Year of Sustainability initiatives, ADU’s College of Engineering, Civil Engineering Department hosted its second Bridge Competition under the theme ‘Earthquake Bridge Building for a Sustainable Future’ with the participation of over 120 students from both private and public high schools across the UAE. Held at ADU’s Al Ain campus, the Competition was hosted with the sponsorship of El Race Construction.

In reflection with its academic excellence, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) hosted its 17^th graduation ceremony and celebrated 1,516 graduates from the class of 2023. The University has welcomed family and friends who celebrated a total of 839 undergraduate and 677 postgraduate students that have walked for their graduation. Since its establishment in 2003, ADU has graduated over 26,000 students, many of whom have achieved prominent positions in several sectors and industries at national, regional and global levels.

In line with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability, Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) College of Engineering (CoE) hosted the 2^nd Annual College of Engineering Hackathon in an effort to continue presenting students with valuable opportunities that address sustainability at large and real-world challenges in specific. The Hackathon provides an exceptional learning experience that fosters innovation and hones problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills among high-school students.

In line with Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) commitment to providing students with a well-rounded educational experience, ADU and Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the University’s College of Health Sciences in enhancing the training programs in the field of health sciences as well as the students’ employability.
